Trinity College London and the music of Bollywood in the curriculum

The international success of AR Rahman `s Oscar-winning music in  Slumdog Millionaire  , the Trinity College, London, led to the classical music of India Bollywood and its programs to include.

Reflect, we have our program to make it fresh, relevant and timely. If the global trends and the Bollywood music is a way to do it to change. The result will be included in our repertoire,  said Sarah Kemp, Executive Director of Trinity College, PTI during a visit here today.

The music of Bollywood catapulted to Centrestage. The international success of Rahman's music 'is a very important role in Indian music on the world stage,  Kemp said the reason for the change of the studies of the plan.

Under the new program began in January of this year, Bollywood music has been included in the section on electronic keyboard musical exploration.

The university has also begun to test the interest of their students into the world of classical music in India.

As part of a pilot project in London, which offered the Carnatic music of South India for some of our students. Depending on the response which can include traditional Indian permanently in our program,  Nick Keyworth, chairman of music experts said at the university.

In general, they focus on rock, pop and jazz that have been favorites among students, he said.

Are offered in music, the assessments in piano, violin, choose, viola, cello, classical guitar, guitar, keyboards, flutes, recorders, singing and drum kits.

Trinity College has approximately 500,000 tests per year worldwide, with 36,000 from the India.

Council is a major international exam qualification in English and performing arts, music, dance, drama and expression.

Represented in over 60 countries around the world, the pan-India has more than 30 centers.
